When they write about scary movie, conversation is often led to listing of something that may be called “fear subjects”, these are phenomena, characters, events which are action catalyst in a movie. They also make up evolution theory of ”horror” in cinema. For instance, this principle is drawn out in French cinema encyclopedia “Faces of Horror”. Chapters are also called: “Ghosts”, “Zombies”, “Animal Monsters”, “Children killers” and so on. As a result, in chapter “Ghosts” “Aureole” by Kubrik adjoins “Love Phantom” by Dino Rizzi and “On the Back of Cemetery”by Lucio Fulci adjoins “Green Room” by Truffoe.

It is, of course, curious example. But even more serious researchers try to catch close connection between fear, as emotion, arising up for spectator when watching a film, and existence of the proper matter of fear that characters are afraid of. Thus the things that are necessary to be determined as «technology of fear» — difficult complex of dramaturgic, stylistic, technical skills, intending permanent experimentation with the language of narration, psychology of perception, using archetypes and myths of mass consciousness are left aside. Presence of this mechanism and quite not presence of the actual matter of fear, and finally provides genre authentication of work as scary movies…
